For the casual live player, is the sample size so small that it mostly all comes down to luck?

I was and still am a casual poker player, but since post-Black Friday with the loss of PokerStars and Full Tilt I now just play every few months or so live at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

I used to tell myself that when going to the casino I would only stick to skill games like poker.

But I honestly feel at the casino, given the sample size, it pretty much all comes down to luck.

If I run good/get good cards, I win. If I am getting bad cards/run bad, I lose.

It feels like pretty much any strategies, theories, etc., don't come into play here.

If I am only visiting these casinos a few times a year and play for only five hours or so and am basically seeing only 100-125 hands a visit, is it pretty much like a slot machine where it is basically all luck?
